I had the honour of meeting a most knowledgeable group of people yesterday. I’ll readily admit that I have very little understanding of the world of HVAC Engineering. I’m not sure what a “day in the life” of these professionals looks like, and I can’t fully appreciate the intricacies of their expertise, but I can most certainly appreciate the results and outcomes of their work.
Despite the gargantuan gap between our spheres of influence I was welcomed to the annual conference of ASHARE, hosted by the BC Chapter, as a speaker. This alone, is a testament to the power of social media.
In the morning’s presentation I shared some insights into how social media can used professionally in the HVAC Engineering community. The slides from the presentation are included here for reference.
I thank Bob Basil, my esteemed Kwantlen colleague, and his MRKT3311 class from the Spring 2013 term for their contributions to this successful presentation.
I would also like to thank ASHRAE conference organizers for inviting me to speak at this event, and to the attendees for their interest and enthusiasm. I look forward to seeing how these professionals embrace these tools to develop networks, share knowledge, and forward the interests of their profession.
Thank you for the mention, Amanda!
